About Us

Oaklands Hill Wind Farm is being developed jointly by  Investec Bank (Australia) Limited and Windlab Systems Pty Ltd who have formed an alliance to develop wind farm generation facilities in Australia and overseas.

One of these facilities is the Oaklands Hill Wind farm.

Investec is an international, specialist banking group that provides a diverse range of financial products and services to a select client base. One of the areas in which Investec specialises is the clean energy sector, including the development of an international portfolio of wind generation projects.

Founded in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1974, Investec has expanded to establish an international business platform, offering specialist financial services in South Africa and the UK and Australia.

The company was instrumental in forming the Viridis Clean Energy Fund. This fund invests in a diversified global portfolio of clean energy assets. The principal investment focus is on assets that generate electricity or other consumable energy produced from renewable, waste or inherently low emission energy sources, including wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, solar, waste fuel, coal seam methane and natural gas.

Investec sees the joint venture with Windlab as a key part of its strategy to expand its activities in developing and financing clean energy projects.

Windlab, established by former CSIRO Wind Energy Research Unit staff and scientists, works with strategic equity partners to locate, secure and develop suitable sites for wind power generation.

Using its flagship product Windscape, which is based on CSIRO atmospheric modeling technology, Windlab locates premium wind energy sites rapidly and cost effectively

The Windlab team is highly regarded globally for its technical expertise.
